History
Perranporth SLSC was founded on the 13th February 1957 by 10 volunteer members. Perranporth is one of the oldest Surf Life Saving Clubs in Great Britain.
Several summer drownings at the beach in the early 1950's led to a public meeting in the town from which the lifesaving club was formed, using a small beach hut on the sand as it's first headquarters.
The club now has a recently completed extension and improvements, part funded by the National Lottery. In 2003 the area under the balcony has been used to provide a larger professional lifeguard facility and larger changing rooms. This extension has been funded by the RNLI Beach Rescue programme.
Club facilities include a purpose built lifeguard base station equipped with a medical room. On the ground floor are:- male and female changing rooms, large equipment storage areas, a gym, sauna and showers.
The 1st floor provides a spacious and modern training rooms providing an ideal learning environment for students and newcomers to beach rescue

In 2007 the club membership
is 300+ and consists of all ages.
There is a broad
