2012 Summer Training Times (April till early September)

Tuesday Nights:

• Youth Training Night, 7-8pm @ the Beach. Board & Swim training.  All abilities, ages from 12-19.  – Contact Dave Townsend 07791759723

Wednesday Nights:

• Club Night From 6.30pm onwards @ the Beach. NaRS Lifesaving training, IRB training, Board and Surf Swimming – the emphasis is on all abilities – male & female –  from complete beginner to club / national competitor  -  inclusive, fun and this year an even better structure for those wanting to improve their skills and / or take some relevant qualifications. Thursday Nights:

• Nipper Beach training @ 6.15 -8.15pm, Beach and water sessions in lifesaving, swimming, board and beach games – Contact Spike 07779292495

Friday Nights:

• Men’s Surfboat training @ 6pm – Contact Aaron 07808753413
• Ladies Social Surfing Group – ages 14+ The general idea of the session is to get as many women out on the water as possible. – Contact Mel 07816976751

Sundays:

• Ski paddling & Surfboat training @ 9am at the beach. Venues will change due to surf conditions, (more info on Facebook page) Contact Dave T/Shelley on above no’s.

As a club we have a long and distinguished record of service that stretches back to the early 1950s when a spate of Summer drownings at the beach led to a public meeting in the town from which the lifesaving club was formed, using a small beach hut on the sand as its first headquarters. Over the years the club has grown considerably and today, we have over 300 members. There is a broad mixture of personalities, patrolling members and competitors who combine to provide a unique atmosphere and lifestyle. Our Club is an intimate part of our local community and we are keen to recruit new members who are willing to get involved with the “life of the beach”. Lifesaving and the pursuit of activities related to it are our primary focus, but we depend on people who can help as much behind the scenes as on the beach. Our Nipper, Youth, Senior and Master sections cover ages from 7 to 80+ so we will find room for anyone irrespective of age, gender or ability!
